Doncaster: Tax Planning
Simon had sold his company shares some years before, enabling him to give up work relatively young.
He received a significant lump sum which he had invested, and a pension. He was a higher rate taxpayer at the time. His wife Heather did not work, having brought up their children.
He sought our advice, via his Accountant, who could see that there may be a better way of organising his affairs to reduce their overall tax bill.
We quickly established that by rearranging their investments, they could reduce their tax bill significantly, (without taking on any additional risk) and so this was what we did.
Neither spouse pays tax currently.
