Join us for our MS Society charity golf day
ASPLdirector Ivan Hutchings has organised a charity golf day in support of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society each year for the past four years, so far raising £25,553 for the charity which has just one aim: to beat MS.
This year the event takes place on Monday 17th June at Handsworth Golf Club, a few miles outside Birmingham City Centre, and we’d like to hear from you if you are interested in entering a team.
Ivan started the golf day after raising over £10,000 to provide his sister Annette with a wheelchair as she was told she would not walk again due to the effects of MS.
“This created the drive to continue to raise money for MS and subsequently we started the MS Golf Day in 2009. Unfortunately Annette passed away due to the effects of MS in August 2010. To celebrate her life, we now play for the Annette Austin Memorial Trophy” says Ivan.
Last year Ivan and his wife Jayne recruited 28 teams to participate in the event and places for this year are filling fast – but there’s still room for more.
The main event is a full handicap Stableford competition with the best 2 scores to count out of the team of 4. There are also individual competitions and the day rounds off with a post golf barbecue and presentations.
